JOIN A COMMITTEE!

KABA-GA runs day-to-day thanks to the contributions of numerous attorneys, students, and volunteers.  Our events are open and we invite members to join a committee.  It is a great way to meet people, become more involved, and take a leadership role in the organization.  Read about our committees, sign up, or provide feedback to our Committee Chairs!  NOTE: You should pay your KABA-GA dues before joining any committee.

The KABA-GA In-House Committee was formed in 2020 and aims to bring together in-house attorneys for mentorship and networking, serve as a resource, and connect in-house counsel with KABA-GA members.

The KABA-GA IAKL Committee serves as liaison to the International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL), with which KABA-GA is affiliated.  KABA-GA typically hosts a summer mixer with IAKL leadership in Atlanta, coordinates KABA-GA members who attend the IAKL conference each fall, and provides updates and resources between the two organizations.  The 2020 IAKL conference will be Sept. 17-20, 2020 in San Francisco.

The KABA-GA Communications Committee is dedicated to unifying, strengthening, and enhancing the KABA-GA experience by connecting and promoting the organization and members.  We develop custom content and features, coordinate announcement of events, and maintain the organization's Facebook and LinkedIn pages.  Our ultimate goal is to ensure KABA fulfills its mission as a valuable resource to all its members.

The KABA-GA Young Lawyers Committee was organized in 2019 to provide social and professional opportunities for attorneys 1-8 years out of law school.  In 2020, the Young Lawyers Committee is organizing a dinner series that will connect lawyers in an informal setting and provide opportunities to meet and hear from a great range of speakers and guests.

The KABA-GA Solo/Small Firm (SSF) Committee was started in November 2018, with the goal of unifying the K-town attorneys and other Solo/Small Firms to provide networking and mentorship opportunities.  The SSF organizes a monthly lunch in the Gwinnett area.  In 2019, the SSF began organizing a quarterly legal seminar series which have hundreds in attendance.  Topics have included immigration, real estate, and legal advice for small businesses. Seminar Sponsorships are available, and are publicized and marketed in Korean language newspapers and social media.

The SSF Co-Chairs are Eun Y. Park, Si Hyeon Kim, and Michael Chung, with member Jason Park. The KABA-GA Law Students Committee focuses on developing relationships with local law schools and law students.  The committee assists law students with career advice, networking, job interviews, and internships and organizes several events a year.  Everyone is welcome to join us and participate in our events.

The KABA-GA Membership Committee's goal is to recruit, identify, and welcome new members, and encourage payment of dues.  The Membership Committee also promotes the organization through the yearly directory and organizing social events.
