Wheat Mission, also called "Milal" Mission, is a Christian foundation and charitable organization started in 1979 by Dr. Jae-Seo Lee, who is blind.  Dr. Lee felt the reality of alienation in Korean society living with a disability.  There are now 66 Wheat Mission Centers around the world, including in Atlanta.

The organization has three purposes:

  • Preaching the gospel of Christ
  • Serving others with disabilities
  • Enlightening the church and society with increased awareness of people with disabilities

Wheat Mission of Atlanta's activities include:

  • The "Classroom of Love” for students with disabilities ievery Saturday. Every Saturday, around 80 people gather for praise, fellowship, and Bible study in the morning, and in the afternoon after lunch with various special activities.
  • The Atlanta Milal Academy.  Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, this Academy is open for disabled adults who graduate from high school. The AMA, which aims to improve the life, vocational training and socialization of adults with disabilities as young adults, is run from morning to afternoon with various programs such as exercise therapy, music therapy, and art therapy.
  • Weekday Special Activities including "Wheat Grain Beauty," a day for self-beautification!  Milal Beauty has easily-accessible beauty salons for individuals with disabilities.
